What it means

It is not a judgement on your work. It is a measure of how visible your good work is.

Cornwall is full of brilliant businesses that customers simply cannot find or verify online. A low score does not mean a business is poor, careless or dishonest. It usually means the digital presence has not caught up with the quality of the work.

The Digital Trust Presence Score was created for the Cornwall Motoring Hub and now runs across the whole Local Offer. It gives every independent business a clear, honest picture of how they appear to a stranger searching on a phone, and a practical path to improving it.

Our role is to help you grow that presence: more genuine reviews, stronger social media, a more transparent website and consistent listings, so customers choose you with confidence.

What the score is built from

Reviews and ratings

25 pts

Recent, genuine reviews on Google and across the web, and whether you reply to them. Responding publicly to feedback is one of the strongest trust signals there is.

Website quality and transparency

20 pts

A working website that shows who you are: real people, a real address, clear pricing, opening hours and honest photos. Transparency is what turns a visitor into a customer.

Social media presence

20 pts

Active, public profiles on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. Posting regularly and engaging with comments shows there are real people behind the business.

Directory listings and consistency

15 pts

Consistent name, address and phone details across Google Business Profile, maps and directories. Inconsistency quietly costs you visibility in search.

Photos and video

12 pts

Real imagery of your work, your team and your place. Customers trust what they can see, and profiles with authentic photos get far more enquiries.

Contactability

8 pts

A visible phone number, email and enquiry route that actually gets answered. Every unanswered channel is a customer who went somewhere else.
